Thank You - AHSC # 38

This week I have a card rather than a layout for you all. My goal is to scrapbook more and more of my design team work so that I am always working on the pictures of my girls and our family but I also have some card workshops to do and so I decided to use this weeks sketch as the foundation for one of my workshop cards.

This month we will be working with Laughing Lola and thanks to a great sketch this card came really easily to me with one exception…the sentiment.

I really wanted to stay to true to sketch and have the sentiment in the upper right corner of the card but due to the busyness of the paper anything I tried got lost up there when stamped directly onto the card. So I got out the white paper and matted it and it just felt lost up there hanging out by itself. But not a 100% sure of where I wanted it, I surveyed the family (yes, I am that indecisive at times) I first asked my daughters, my oldest (6 years old) voted with me for where it is in the picture. My youngest two (ages 4 and 5) said nope, they did not like it there, they wanted it in the right hand corner. Uh oh….a dead tie. So to break the tie and end the great debate and let me tell you, it was a debate…kids can be brutally honest and they were debating where it should go and why.  I have to admit it was all kind of humorous that they were so invested in this decision, because it was for a class and class is so important….he he he!  Anyways, I digress…we enlisted the help of my husband to break the tie and he sided with my oldest and I, much to the chagrin of my younger two, who I will add tried to persuade him to where they wanted, it was a great debate over a small detail!

Needed that chuckle this morning, great story. My husband is my go-to when I need an opinion. Great job, and I like the sentiment placement, sometimes you just need to vary off the sketch to make it work.

I'm voting with the majority, the sentiment looks great where it is. I cannot get enough of those M-size stamps with the Framework alphabet! So versatile, an so much fun to colour, paper-piece, etc. All the best with your resolution to do more scrapping lay-outs; its one of my goals this year, too.
