H2H - Rhapsody in Blue

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challeges the theme is Rhapsody in Blue and the goal is to Create a predominately blue project (bonus if you include a musical motif). As always I have a plan in mind when I see one of the challenges and 99% of the time that plan in my head gets tossed aside for something different as I begin. Today I was going to work on my hinged display tray that I got a while ago and had no where to put but as I began looking I remembered I had this bracket frame and thought it would look awesome on our new built in book cases. I wanted to use this saying that I found in the Silhouette online store because it speaks to me as we are in the process of becoming a forever family with our 3 girls we are trying to adopt. This will serve as a reminder to all of us that we are in this family thing forever and none of us are going anywhere! Also, like 99% of my projects I have a plan in my mind for what papers and colours I will be using and I had every intention of using way more blue but when I got putting it together it just would not work with my decor so I while the primary colour is not blue the focal points are blue and the most important words are blue...family and forever!

Everything on here is from CTMH with the exception of the saying, which I got in the Silhouette online store, it is from Kolette Hall. The paper is a retired paper pack called Grace.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the other great projects at H2H!

Coasting to Christmas

Like my air freshener, my coaster set needed a holiday update. I used the paper and stamp set from my Christmas cards because I just loved it so much. I will be honest, I was not fond of the paper or the stamp set at first but the more I played with it it really grew on me. I will be using these papers for all my Christmas layouts after the holidays so be on the look out for those! Of course I still need to scrapbook Christmas 2011 first!

I really love these coasters, they are super old, I got them at least 8 years ago and I just love that they can be changed and updated. Typically I just stamp on card stock but this time I treated each coaster as its own mini card/layout and used different papers and stamps and I really love how it turned out I am not bragging, I just really love how they look in our house, it really adds a nice touch.

Christmas is in the air...air freshener that is!

While shopping in the states several years ago I bought this air freshener, I forget the brand, I believe it was Glade. I was not really a fan of the scents it provided but I loved the simple look of it so I kept it around but it needed an update so I had created a new shell to it. Now that the holidays are here and everything in our house has changed from navy and burgundy to green and red it just looked like it needed an update...a Christmas update!

Supplies used:

Paper:
- Colonial white card stock

Ink:
- Olive
- Cocoa
- Cranberry

Stamps:
- December Word Puzzle (retired)

All products are Close to my Heart unless otherwise listed.

I hope you and your family are really enjoying the holidays!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Coasting along...

I have some coasters in my family room that are from EK Success and it is a tray with 4 picture frame coasters and back in 2009 I had stamped some images and put in the coasters rather than pictures and felt it was a time for an update to the stamped images.

Here is the original set of images:

And here is the new and improved images:

The details:
Stamp Sets: Card Word Puzzle and Family Love (two of my favourites!)
Ink: Outdoor Denim and Vineyard Berry
Cardstock: White Daisy

Sorry the pictures are not the best, no matter what I did, they would not come out any better!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
