Before I go into detail on my card below, I want to apologize for the lack of posts recently, I was away for 10 glorious days up in Cottage country enjoying all the beauty and splendor of fall. I spent the first part of the week with my husband and girls on Friday they went home and I stayed and welcomed friends for the first annual Fall Cottage scrapbooking weekend and I was thrilled with my progress I got 19 double page spreads done while I was away. But truly the best part of the entire week was seeing nature do its thing and seeing the fall colours come to life over the course of the week, it was breathtakingly beautiful. I love everything about Fall!
Now onto my sketch for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, like Fall, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about the Huntington paper pack and this page in particular. When I made this card it was killing me to flip over this beautiful paper (not that I do not love the other side of it, it just love this side so much more) that I just went with it, in hindsight, I should have flipped it over for the banner to add a bit more contrast. I am really loving being part of this design team, it is forcing me to step out of my comfort zone on some sketches and it is keeping me focused on always working on creating something.
Here is this weeks sketch, please join us at the link above, I would love to see your version of the sketch!

The love of family
Here is one of the cards I made for my September card workshops. September was all about the Huntington paper pack. Huntington, like fall makes me happy. I love the colours, the crisp cool air, I love all of it!
I am not sure what the name of this card type is, but I loved it and I think it worked well with the Huntington paper and fall is all about thinking about what makes us happy and the things we are thankful for and for me that is my family...I love and I am so very thankful for my family.

Gratitude....
Have I said how much I love Fall and this paper? Oh yes I did in my last post and guess what I still love fall (though I hate what comes after it...really 6 months or more of winter and snow?) This card is actually one of the designs put together by our Close To My Heart Art Department as a gathering project and I did use it as a gathering project but I flipped the papers. I love both sides of this paper but I just have a hard time covering up these beautiful flowers.
To get the tree light enough you need to do second generation stamping so that the Gratitude saying will show up bright enough.

Give Thanks!
There is nothing I love more than Fall, I love everything about Fall, the colours, the smell, the crisp cool feeling in the air and now I love it even more with the beautiful Fall paper Huntington from Close to My Heart!
I made this card for this weeks sketch challenge over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and had so much fun making it.
Here is the sketch that the challenge is based off of. I had to move the acorns to the other side, I just could not justify covering up the goregous flower in the paper and that is the great thing about sketches, they are just sketches, road maps if you will, you can move and adjust things as you would like to make things work for your project, as I did here!
