Some like it hot! - H2H Challenges

I love warm weather, I hate cold weather! So this weeks theme is right up my alley. This week at H2H - Heart 2 Heart Challenge is "Some like it Hot" that is all the information given to us, so go with what ever inspires you around the theme "Some like it hot." For me I instantly thought of hot weather and the things we love to do in the warm / hot weather and I instantly thought of the pool. We have a summer membership to go to any of the pools in our city any time they are open and we have been spending a lot of time there so far this summer. I designed this layout to showcase some of the many pool and swimming pictures we have taken already this summer.

Products used:

Paper:
- Surf's Up

Embellishments:
-Surf's Up assortment
- Sparkles Assortment - Blue and Green
- Shimmer Trim - Teal

Cricut:
- Cricut Artbooking

I typically order all my prints for a year at a time and I am waiting for a good deal on prints, once I get the prints I will add them to my layout and do the journaling.

Gone Fishing - AHSC #64

Here in Southern Ontario cottage season is in full swing. My in laws have a wonderful cottage that we are so very lucky to get to spend time at each summer and as a thank you for the great times we have there each year I made this card for them to thank them for their kindness and hospitality while we are visiting with them, we always have a wonderful time when we are there.

Of course I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC) to complete this card. The minute I saw this sketch I just knew Timberline was the way to go with it. Some sketches are super easy for me and some I struggle with, this was one of those easy ones. I had this card done in a matter of minutes.

Products used:

Paper:
- Timberline
- Colonial White

Ink:
- Chocolate
- Slate

Embellishments:
- Neutral Metallic Bakers Twine
- Durables Artisan Studs

Stamp:
- Catch you later (D1580)

Heart 2 Heart Challenge Time again!

I am so loving being on the design team for Heart 2 Heart challenges, it is really challenging me…in a good way. This weeks challenge was to use Close to My Heart or C, T, M, and H on your project and that is what I did, but it was a bit harder than I thought it would be.

Here is my layout:

And here is my break down of the C, T. M, and H:

C:
- CTMH paper
- Card stock
- Cricut and Cricut Cartridge
- Chip board

T:
- Tag

M:
- Matting
- Markers (hand written journaling on arrows)

H:
- Hearts

I had fun with it but it was also a bit difficult to come up with and make sure you use products that start with those letters. I know I could have used more products but I really tried to keep it to only those letters but I did add a bit of bling to the tag and that did not fall under any of the letters but hey every layout needs a bit of bling now and then!

We sure hope you join us and play along, I would love to see what you come up with for your C, T, M, and H!

The love of family

Here is one of the cards I made for my September card workshops. September was all about the Huntington paper pack. Huntington, like fall makes me happy. I love the colours, the crisp cool air, I love all of it!

I am not sure what the name of this card type is, but I loved it and I think it worked well with the Huntington paper and fall is all about thinking about what makes us happy and the things we are thankful for and for me that is my family...I love and I am so very thankful for my family.

Supplies:
Paper:
-Huntington
- Barn Red and Colonial White card stock

Ink:
- Barn Red

Stamp Set:
- D1506 Family Love

Mine is on its way to, it shipped today and I could not be more excited. So in the mean time I am trying to learn all I can about the cartridge before it gets here so I can jump right in and have fun.

Here is a short video showing some fun back to school layouts using just 2 keys on the Artbooking cartridge.

If you have any questions about the Artbooking or any cartridge just let me know!

Cricut Craft Room

I am a tech geek, give me a computer, smart phone, tablet and let me go to town and I will master that thing in no time. Now I am not IT smart but I know my way around every day technology BUT when it comes to my Cricut it is another story. I actually own 2, I have the original baby bug and 2 years ago I upgraded to the Cricut Expression and while I do use it on just about every page or card I make, I know there is so much more I can do with it that I don't. Why you ask...that is a great questions, I am scared to death, that is right I am afraid of my Cricut, it intimidates me. It is my goal, to learn more about the different features and functions and this video about the Cricut Craft Room is right up my alley to get me started. I hope you find it as informative and helpful as I have.

Did I mention I also have the Cricut Gypsy (thanks to my dear hubby who got it for me for Christmas a couple of years ago) and between the Gypsy and this, I really think I will be able to take the fear out of using my Cricut to create some fun and unique products. I really hope this video helped and that it has inspired you to dust off your Cricut and get it chirping again!

Until next time, happy scrapping!
