Assemble the Minions!

I am super excited to see the sequel to Despicable Me and we will be seeing it soon, taking one of our daughters for her birthday party. I just loved the first movie and from the previews this one looks just as good. Like most people one of my favourite elements of the movies are the adorable minions. I got to looking at them and realized that they could fairly easily be recreated and so I got out my Cricut and my Art Philosophy and got playing around and here is the results:

The only thing I did not use the Art Philosophy for on the Minions is the hair,  goggle strap, arms, and the smirks. The body was made using one of the banner cuts. The hands were created on my Cricut Gypsy using a banner and circles and I welded them together to create the 3 fingered gloves the minions wear. The rest is all basic shapes like circles and and ovals. 

To create the goggles I cut circles out and inked them with Versamark and heat embossed them with a Silver embossing powder. The body is a yellow card stock by Recollections and the overalls are Bazzill Bling. I do not know or recall the exact colour names. 

I hope you enjoyed these little guys, I really had a blast making them and it was fun watching my girls expressions as the pieces started coming to life and the realization of what it was I was making.
