Play Laugh - BTF Challenge

Hello! Spring is in the air at Between the Folds (BTF)! Spring really brings the kids out of the house after a long cold winter and it is time for the wee ones to be outside and playing with their friends. I created this card with that in mind. My girls ride the bus to school so while I am very involved at the school and always there volunteering it is often during the school day and I do not get to meet many of their friends parents. So there are few that I do not know and would like to get to know so that we can get the kids together for some fun times. I made this card to introduce myself and provide our phone number and email address to begin a dialogue for inviting their kids over to play. I could just write a simple note but I am a paper crafter and that goes against my core values...he he he

This stamp set is School Kids and initially I was not a fan of it but the more I saw what my fellow consultants were doing with these cutie pies I just had to have it.

Products used:

Paper:
- Dreamin Big
- Some Kinda Wonderful
- White Daisy card stock

Ink:
- Memento in Rich Cocoa

Stamp:
- D1706 - School Kids

Thin Cuts:

Shin Han Markers:
- 0 - Colorless Blender
- YR29 - Barely Beige
- BG61 - Peacock Green

Thanks! - H2H Challenges

Today I have a thank you card that I made for a gentleman in my families life who recently was honoured for 15 years of volunteer service in our community and province and he came into our life through his volunteer work and has had a significant role in our lives and the lives of our wee ones. He drives our wee ones to various appointments that we are not able to attend with them. And that is why there are cars on this thank you card. Our volunteer driver has a red mini van but I do not have a mini van stamp but I do have this one and it just felt perfect for him. He is a wonderful caring man who takes wonderful care of not just our girls but many children.

Now onto the card! Our drivers van is red so of course I had to make it red to pop off the card. The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart challenges the challenge is stamped backgrounds. I used a retired stamp of the month called Long Ride Home.

Below is a close up of the background stamping with the bits of colour pops I added in.

Products Used:

Paper:
- Ruby, Sapphire, and White Daisy card stock

Ink:
- Saffron, Sapphire, and Black

Embellishments:
- Black and White Dots
- Whisper Extra thick twine

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. I welcome any and all comments, I love feedback!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Happy Hump Day! Day 3 of projects...I am so on a roll this week! It is truly amazing how productive you can be when you have a reliable working computer! I finally upgraded my computer after watching my Mac die a slow and painful death, it is not dead yet but it is not doing well and could be any day now so before I loose everything, it is time to switch over. I knew I hated working with it with all of its issues but I can not believe how quickly I can do things again, it is wonderful!

Any hoots, onto the project. I have a card for you today, this is also from my Dreamin' Big workshop this month. And can I just say...I love this paper? he he he! Ok ok I know I say that ALL the time...but I am being honest, I do love it!

Play like no one is watching - BTF Challenges

Hi again...two days in a row that I have new art for you. Today I bring you my design team work and a layout I did for my Dreamin' Big workshop.

The title of the layout goes across the two pages and is "Play like no one is watching" which is a play on the popular saying of Dance like no one is watching. I just love watching my kids play and there are many times they are busy playing and creating away in the basement while I am working on my CTMH projects and they think I am working but I am really watching and listening to them and are amazed by their creativity and talents...and they have no idea just how closely I am paying attention!

I also know my customers all have kids and grand kids that they scrapbook so this play theme worked well for all of us. I am sorry for the lack of pictures, due to some privacy concerns, I do not post pictures of my girls who will ultimately end up on this layout.

Products Used:

Paper:
- Dreamin' Big
- Saffron, Glacier, Poppy, Black, and White Daisy card stock

Embellishments:
- Dreamin' Big sequins

Stamps:
- D1702- Capture this
Ink:
- Black and Poppy

Silhouette Cameo Cuts:
- The title was cut using some fonts but I do not recall; I will be more detailed next time!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project, I hope you like it and I always welcome feedback so I can make my workshops and projects better!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Happy Monday! Today I have my design team project for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog site. This was a card I did for my Dreamin' Big Card workshop.

Happy Easter - BTF Challenges

This last weekend I had my Hello Lovely workshop for some fabulous ladies who come out and play with paper with me each month and this is one of the layouts we made. I do apologize, I know my photo skills need to get better!

The challenge this week at BTF is use CTMH compliments on your project and I did, not a lot and not huge ones but they are there. Do you see the heart and arrow? Those are part of the Hello Lovely compliments package. They are amazingly fun to work with, they have some dimension to them and are soft. I love them and want more for sure! I also featured the little bunnies from the Stamp of the Month for this month! The Fern and Sorbet squares are 4 X 6, 4 X 3. and 3 X 3 photo mats. I do not post pictures of our girls for privacy reasons so this was taken before I added their pictures!

Thanks for stopping in and checking out my project, I had a lot of fun creating this one.

Congratulations - H2H challenges

Hi! Happy Monday to you! Today I bring you the latest challenge from the H2H challenge blog and the challenge this week is Tuxedo (Black & White). This one proved to be a bit of a challenge for me as I kept thinking of this would make a great accent colour to offset the black and white, or I could put this bling here but it was not black or white..ahhh that was hard for me but I think I did good even though I found it to be a challenge.

I hope you will join us and play along, it is amazing how striking black and white can be together and we would love to see what you come up with.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Just for you - AHSC #197

Today I stepped out of my comfort zone and have a card that is all stamping. I was inspired by a card from a fellow Close to my Heart Consultant Sarah Poulton. I loved her card so much I just had to step out of my comfort zone and give one a try. Sarah's card can be found here.

For this card I used a lot of ink colours and two retired stamps:

Ink:
Blossom, Raspberry, Canary, Sea Glass, Fern, and Tangerine.

Stamps:
- C1612 Shower Flowers (retired)
- S1411 it's the Little Things (retired)

I hope you like the card, it really was a step out of the norm for me and for my workshop gals, I had them do this one last night and they loved it and all agreed it was not something they would normally do but had a great time doing it!

We would love to see you join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge here!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Hello Lovely - BF Challenge

Two days is a row, I am on a roll this week getting back into my design team duties! Today I bring another Hello Lovely card from my upcoming workshop which I also designed to work with the Ribbon theme at Between the Folds Challenges. This week the challenge is to use ribbon which is absolutely easy to do when you have this gorgeous rose gold ribbon that works so perfectly with this paper!

This card went together super quick. I used the PML cards that come with the paper pack and matted it with Sorbet and then used Fern for the background paper and embossed it with the retired quatrefoil embossing folder. Added some gold glitter gems and the ribbon and done. I left it black so it could be used for any occasion or as a note card.

We hope you are able to carve out some time in your scrap space because we would love to see your interpretation of this challenge.

Please see the right side bar to read all the guidelines for submitting to our challenge. The main guideline to keep in mind is to use some Close To My Heart products on your project.

You have until Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:55 p.m. Eastern Standard Time to participate in this challenge.

Don't forget to check back with us on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 to see what the rest of our Design Team have come up with using Ribbon.

Until next time, happy scrapping!
