Shimmery Celebrate - H2H challenges

This week at Heart 2 Heart challenges (H2H) it is a colour combo week. These types of weeks are typically difficult for me, I do not profess to be the most creative of people, but I am great at faking it. I have a hard time when I am told what to do creatively because what if I am not feeling it that week? My creativity does not come easily at times. I tend to do much better with the sketch challenges as it is a road map for me but that is exactly why I decided to try out for the H2H challenges, it is really forcing me out of my comfort zone.

This week was no different. This week our challenge is Tinsel Time and it is a colour combo featuring Silver, Black and Lagoon. This week challenged me, while I do use the occasional bling but to be overly blingy is just not my style. Once again my 7 year old was helping me so if you look closely you will see some half snowflakes and some holes in the pattern but for a 7 year old I think she did amazing. I came up with the idea of the embossed silver snow flakes but I let her help me with the actual stamping of the versa mark, and sprinkling the embossing powder. You should have seen her face when the embossing powder changed over to the shimmery look after she heated it up. Unlike me, my daughter loves all things sparkly so this one was right up her alley.

This card was created with my cousin in mind, her birthday is on December 29th, just before the New Year festivities. I wanted to make something fun and sparkly for her and I think it is perfect because it will match her sparkling personality!
