Hibiscus Birthday

When I first saw this sketch for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge my initial reaction was to do something in Ombre style but as we all know once you get creating, anything can and usually does happen and that is what happened on this card. This was a step out of my normal comfort zone of clean lines and very defined borders and matting, but sometimes it is good to step outside and go a bit wild and crazy.

Here is the sketch that the card was based on:

I really enjoyed working on this card, it was so fun to see my girls disappointment of nothing on the paper when they did not see anything after stamping the image with the Versamark but then when I started chalking the image they were all woooing and awwwing and commenting on what colours they loved the best, they were glued to my scrap table watching as the image appeared with the chalk. Of course they wanted to play with my chalks and stamps but at 3, 4, and 5 years old they are going to have to wait a bit longer before I let them loose into my stash of scrapbooking supplies.

Products Used:
Paper:
- Cardstock : White Daisy and Sunset

Ink:
- Versamark

Stamp:
- D1514 Just a Number, C1531 Tropical Paradise, and C1356 Extreme Happiness

Chalk:
- EK Success (unsure of colour names used)

i hope you enjoyed this card!

What a beautiful way to do the ombre look! I'm not surprised your girls were amazed. Happy to joining a fellow Canadian at the Atlantic Hearts challenge.
