A Few of My Favourite Things - H2H Challenges

Today I am bringing you a post from one of my design teams, the H2H Challenges and this weeks challenge is all about A Few of My Favourite Things. So we are hoping you will join us and share a few of your favourite projects, embellishments or techniques with us.

Here is what I have....

I chose this layout as one of my favourites for a variety of reasons. First off, I used it to scrapbook pictures of my family at our cottage, one of our very favourite places to go. Cottage Country in Ontario, Canada is absolutely breathtaking and this is from a beach loving Southern California girl! Second, just look at those papers, absolutely stunning. And I lastly, I love the title I created with my Silhouette, I was just learning how to create titles like this and I was so happy with how this one turned out! So that is why this was one of my favourites! Click here to see the original post featuring this paper pack and all the supplies I used to create it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I welcome any and all feedback. If you would like help with purchasing any of the products mentioned my post today, please contact your local CTMH Maker. If you do not have a CTMH Maker and are in Canada I can absolutely assist you in ordering. If you are in the United States, New Zealand or Australia, I can help you locate a Maker local to you for ordering.

Comfort and Joy Stocking - AHSC 400

Hello! Today we are celebrating our 400th sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! I love being part of this Design Team and working with a great group of talented ladies. I find so much inspiration in their sketches and use many of them for my workshops and projects.

Here is another Christmas card I made using this sketch. It is hard to see in this picture but the stocking was coloured with the Red and Black Shimmer Brushes, it is sparkly! The paper is Comfort and Joy and the stamp of the stocking is from The Jubilee Crew.

Gnome Christmas - AHSC #399

Hello! Today I have been busy working on some Christmas cards, I am behind in getting my cards out but I will be getting them out! Sadly my husband has contracted COVID19 and so the last few weeks while in quarantine with 3 young kids who were super bummed to be missing school was a bit hectic and chaotic so I am a bit behind on my cards...but better late than never!

Having sketches to work off of is making the process a bit faster and easier and the AHSC are always a great resource for me when I am needing inspiration!

I used the Gnome for Christmas stamp set with Thin Cuts, Jingle Joy paper and Raspberry card stock.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I welcome any and all feedback. If you would like help with purchasing any of the products mentioned my post today, please contact your local CTMH Maker. Blissful Brackets - Technique Blog hop

Hello and welcome to the technique blog hop tonight. Tonight CTMH consultants from all over will featuring projects using our various bracket thin cuts to show how you can mix them up and create all different kinds of projects with them. If you are joining me from Darlys Recker

You are in the right place! If you get lost along the way just click here!

Now onto my projects:

Merry and Bright...I was inspired by Julie Carrier with this one, the snow on the bracket, so simple yet I would have never thought of doing this. I love that idea so I borrowed it.

This one is a bit of a joke, I realize the paper(Oh Deer) is long retired but I just had to use it with this stamp from the Black Friday sale on a card for my mother in law, she say "Oh Dear" to everything so it was perfect for her. She also loves the birch wood and deer look so I pulled it out for a special card for her. This is actually going to be a Thank you card for her, we have all had quite a year and 2 weeks ago, after doing everything possible to protect our family from COVID my husband got it and she and my father in law have been fabulous in shopping for us, bringing us supplies and ordering take out for me so I don't need to cook so while it is retired, it is perfect for her and has a bracket so I included it!

Who does not love these little Gnomes. This is just a fun one I put together using our Jingle Joy papers and the Gnome for Christmas stamp and Thin cut set.

While the stamp set was only available during the Black Friday sale, I just had to use it considering we are a COVID house in lockdown for some of our Christmas cards! If we cant find humour in this horrible situation we will definitely go bonkers, at least in this house. And I do know there is nothing funny about COVID, I just have to laugh to stay sane. My husband is extremely high risk, so I get the severity of this situation!

This layout features the Party Time paper pack and was featured on the H2H challenges blog but after I posted it, I realized I never did any journalling on the layout so I grabbed some Glacier card stock and my bracket thin cut and typed up some journaling and put the bracket thin cut through my printer to print right onto it.

Here is a closer look at the journaling block!

It is now time to hop on over to Tamara Sandwisch and see what fabulous artwork she has for you tonight!

Peace on Earth - H2H Challenges

Hello! Today I have a Christmas card for you! At this time of year it is all about Christmas so this weeks challenge from Heart 2 Heart should not be a surprise either, the challenge is Peace on Earth.

So as I sat down to create cards for this challenge I came to a shocking realization that with my far to many Christmas stamps, not one has the sentiment Peace on Earth on it, can you believe that? I, personally was shocked! I do know that I tend not to get stamps that are to religious in feel for my workshops and try to keep to simple sayings like Merry Christmas and generic stuff as that but I thought for sure I would have at least one...but NOPE! So I have to share just a Christmas card with a generic Christmas saying!

This is one of the cards I created for my Jingle Joy workshop, I don't what it is about this little reindeer but I just love him, he looks so peaceful and that is why I chose him for this card and this challenge! I think he would be super cute with ornaments hanging off his antlers too, I may have to try to that!

Stamp:
- The Jubilee Crew

Hello and welcome to the "Inky Fingers" blog hop tonight! We have 12 Close to My Heart Makers showcasing artwork where they got creative with inks we offer. If you are joining me from Lauren Moore, welcome!

Tonight I pulled out my Distress Oxide Inks and was playing with them but it was one of those days where all my ideas just did not work out for me. I started with this pattern on the bottom it is from a super old stencil I have and the Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Inks. Please tell me I am not the only person who has these kinds of days?

Merry Little Christmas - AHSC 394

Hello! Back again with another Christmas card from the Comfort and Joy workshop I held and as I often do I used the AHSC sketches for my design inspiration for the workshop!

I have really enjoyed working on the cards for this workshop as poinsettias were my mothers favourite flower. It was not Christmas until there is a poinsettia in the house for her and it continues with me, she just loved them so very much so I continue the tradition. I always remember one year when my oldest brother Rob was working part time in high school at a department store called Gemco and he had to work Christmas Eve and while he was at work for the closing shift we were all at my Aunt Barbara's house for Christmas festivities and when we got home out entire living and dining room was covered in poinsettias, they were beautiful and EVERYWHERE! When we left for my aunts house we only had one and now there were easily 20-30. My mom shrieked and my brother who was getting ready to go out with friends came running to see what the issue was and she asked where they all came from and my brother said that the managers said if anyone wanted any they could take them because on the 26th they would all be tossed as no one will want them after Christmas. Of course none of his friends wanted any but he made them help him load up his VW bug and bring them home for my mom and poinsettia bomb our house. It was magical and my mom was so happy. Every Christmas when I see a poinsettia I go right back to that night and it brings me happiness when I miss my mom the most! Anyhoots now that I am all teary....onto the project!

Noel - AHSC 393

Hello! I am back with another card for you today! I have been busy working on cards and layouts for my Comfort and Joy workshop, lots of Christmas going on here!

Here is the sketch for this week:

And here is my take on it:

I had every intention of doing the circle and scallop circle like the ones in the sketch but to fit the Noel and the flower that I wanted my circles were not big enough so I had to compromise and just use the full circles. I hope you all don't mind....lol That is the great thing about sketches, you can use them exactly or use them as jumping off point, alter them a bit if you need to so that it works for your project like I did.

Paper:

- Scarlet and White Daisy card stock
