Friend - AHSC #153

Hello and Happy Tuesday to you! Today I have another card using Penelope (I tell you I am addicted to this stuff!). I also bring to you a guest designer who assisted me with my project for this weeks AHSC design team entry. My 8 year old daughter was my assistant in my scrap room today and she kind of took this card over to make for her best friend at school. I let her run with it, with a bit of help and making sure she was following the sketch.

Here is our project...I thinks she did pretty darn good! I did help with the colouring of the flowers. She did the small pink ones and she asked me to do the other two. We did the technique where you put ink onto the lid of the ink pad and use a water blending brush to pick up the ink, not sure what it is called.

I was really happy she got to help me today, she has some days where she makes a lot of bad choices and today she was great, so awesome to be around and fun, smiling and care free. I love seeing her that way and so as a reward for great choices and NO bad choices, listening first time every time she got to play with mommy and do pretty much what she wanted, as long as she followed the sketch. She is already asking to do another sketch....I might have created a mini me!

Products used:

Paper:
- Penelope
- Crystal Blue and White Daisy card stock

Ink:
- Pear, Pixie, Honey, and Crystal Blue

Embellishments:
- Silver Shimmer Trim
- Pink Epoxy bubbles

Thanks for stopping by, we would love to see what you come up with using this sketch. Please join us at AHSC and share your work with us!

Thanks!

Hello - H2H Challenge

Hello! Happy Monday to you! It is time that we bring you another wonderful challenge from Heart 2 Heart Challenges. The challenge this week is to use the colour Fern.

What does a girl do when she has nothing Fern except a Fern ink pad? Make her own papers, thats what! I did some random stamping with C1640 A Friend in me to get the flowers and I coloured them in with a water blending pen and Fern, Eggplant, Poppy, Saffron, and Pomegranate. I also created the Fern mat by using White Daisy yardstick and taking a brayer to the ink pad and loading it up and rolling the ink onto the white Daisy card stock.

Thanks for stopping by, we would love to see what you come up with using the CTMH Fern colour. Be sure to stop by H2H and see what the other design team members came up with!

Until next time, happy Crafting!

Retired! A H2H challenge!

This week at Heart 2 Heart challenges we are all about retirement!  Do you know someone who is retiring from a long career or are you like me and have a huge stash of retired products in your craft areas?

Since no one I know is close to retiring, except my father in law but he won't, I went with the retired product angle!

I have used the retired CTMH paper pack Jubilee and the retired stamp of the month Candlelight Garden. I did go new on the water colour paints on the flowers.

I would love to see any retirement projects you have done or how far into your retired stash you can go for your project for this week! Share your work with us over at H2H Challenges!

Thanks for stopping by!

Two - H2H challenges

Hello!

This week we have a new challenge for you from H2H Challenges. This week the theme is 2 - Two. What will you create with the theme of 2?

I have a card for you featuring 2 - Two new products on my project. I got an order of goodies from Close to my Heart and just could not wait to play with the goodies. The two new products I used are the Confetti embossing folder and the My Anchor Thin Cuts.

I do not have anyone in mind for this card but maybe my husband, the Slate and Outdoor Denim (retired) make this a bit more masculine of a card. I did colour in the little heart in the centre of the Love with a red sharpie. I love the thin cuts, I was able to cut out the lighthouse and the wave border with the thin cuts and it was so easy and took no time at all.

Products Used:
Paper
- White Daisy, Slate and Outdoor Denim (retired) card stock

Stamp:
C1642 My Anchor

Ink:

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project for the H2H design team for more great designs, please stop by H2H and check out the other Design Team entries and that of our loyal followers.

Have a great day, and until next time happy crafting!

It is all about the numbers - H2H Challenges

Happy Monday to you! Today is Monday and I am bringing you a new challenge from Heart 2 Heart challenges. The challenge for this week is all about numbers, just incorporate numbers into your project and you are good to go!

For this weeks challenge I had the idea of cutting out a bunch of numbers and using the negative space for the card. I was not sure what I would do in the background so I had to sit on it for a few days until I figured out what I was going to do and it finally came to me, the water colour paints.

I really like how vibrant I was able to get the colours to appear. I actually let my 5 and 8 year old daughters do the painting for me, they hover when I am at my scrapbook table and I figured this is something they could do, how hard could water coloured stripes be? I think they did fabulous! I did use various fonts on my Silhouette studio for the numbers but the scalloped circle and plain circle were both done with my Cricut Art philosophy.

Products used:

Paper:
- White Daisy card stock
- Bazzil White card stock (I wanted a textured look on top)

Cricut:
- Cricut Explore
- Cricut Art Philosophy

Ink:
- Sunset

Stamp:
- D1475 Card Chatter - Birthday

Thanks for stopping by. To see what the rest of the H2H design team comes up with click here!

Until next time, Happy scrapping!

You mean the world....AHSC Sketch 141

Doesn't it seem like the minute one holiday is over we have moved onto the next one? It does to me and my card today might show how I feel, Christmas and New Years is done, onto Valentines but oddly I never set out to make a Valentines card, I just wanted to use a heart rather than the flower in the sketch below which led me to picking some cute pink papers and BAM!...a Valentine card!

Products Used:

Paper:
- Sweetheart (retired)
- Cotton Candy (retired)

Cricut:
- Art Philosophy

Ink:
- Cocoa

Stamp:
- S1601 - Beloved Bouquet

A simple, yet sweet card to start of the Valentine cards! I hope you enjoyed my project for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Please join us here

Cheers 2016!...H2H Challenge

Happy New Year!

Do you create resolutions? I try to but I try to not set myself up to fail, I try for things I will enjoy like more scrapbooking, trying to get outside more when the weather permits, do more one on one things with our girls. I try not to pick anything to strenuous and our house is so busy and I already struggle to get it all done and be the best motherI can be I do not need any added pressures!

But one of my long standing resolutions is to scrapbook more. I do not scrap nearly enough for my liking. My scrapbooking is my creative outlet, my calming force, my zen. The more I scrap the happier I am which makes everyone in the house happy. The challenge is finding the sweet spot of scrapbooking time and work/mommy time....the challenge is real!

I am starting the year off with this super simple card I made for my first entry for 2016 for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog site. I love being part of their design team and I am entering my second year with this team and so thrilled to start the year with them. While this is my second term on this design team it is my FIRST project for the year and the theme for this weeks challenge is the FIRST month is beginning, use the number 1, the idea of "first," or some other interpretation to kick off the first month of the year!

Products used:

Paper:
- Black card stock

Stamp:
- S1511 Cheers, 2016!

Ink:
-Versamark

Misc:
- Ranger Gold embossing powder
- Craft heater

I hope you enjoyed this super simple card to start the new year off. I do hope you will join us over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges!

Thanks for stopping by!
