Tonight I have a layout that I made using Cake Day for my March workshop. I love the bright bold colours in this one, it is so much fun! Most of the layout comes directly from the Cake Day collection, I used the paper pack with sticker sheet. I did add some Cricut cut flowers from the Celebrate layout on the Everyday Moments Cricut collection.

Canada Hop for July and August idea book

Hello and welcome to the Canada blog hop! Tonight we have consultants from across Canada featuring products from the Close to my Heart July/August Idea Book. If you are joining me from Sabrina at Creating with Crimson you are in the right place!

For tonights project I am featuring a layout I did for my monthly workshop featuring the Wander paper pack. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper pack and will be buying so much more of it. I love the cottage, outdoorsy feel of this one. I came up with this S'mores themed layout. I had so much fun making this layout.

I used Linen card stock for the base pages and then added the Sapphire sky like patterned paper to create a night sky type of affect. I added the Sapphire geometric pattern and the camping / hiking print as well.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the title and Marshmallow sticks. The campfire is from the Wander Cricut Collection (you can find it here!) I added some details with stamping on a Stitched Circle and used the Wander card making stamp and thin cut set to stamp the "cheers to s'more years" in the upper right corner and finished it off with some white dots from the Black and White dots embellishments.

July-August New Product Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our blog hop tonight featuring new products that you can find in the CTMH July/August idea book. If you are joining me from the super talented Becca Whitham, welcome!  If you are starting here at my blog, welcome, we are glad to have you! We have 14 consultants sharing projects with us tonight so be sure to scroll through all the blogs by clicking the links at the end of each blog post.

Now, onto the artwork! For tonight's project I am featuring our Wander paper pack. I love, love, love this paper pack and will be buying lots of it. For me and most of my customers the colours in this one paper was more of a desert feel to it (and while I do have pictures that will work with that from my childhood) living in Ontario, Canada we have more cottage than desert pictures so with the help of my Cricut and the Wander Cricut collection (click here to view it) I changed the feel of the paper to create a more cottage feel for both me and my customers.

As you can see, this is the original design of the paper:

And I wanted to make a more cottage feel so I used the layout below that comes with the Wander Cricut collection to cut out the sand in Toffee, grass in Evergreen and water inGlacier card stock and layered it over the Paprika, Sundance and Peacock.  I also used the cloud from the layout below but cut them in White Daisy.

For some added details, I "fussy" cut the title sticker that said Wander apart and popped the letters up with foam dimensional tape. The sun below, I took some Sundance card stock and cut the 2nd largest stitched Circle thin cut and popped it up over the spot where the sun was on the printed paper and stuck a cloud behind the sun.

To finish the layout off, I added some White dots from the Black and White dots set, some trees that I cut out from the CTMH Timber Cricut collection and added some stickers from the sticker sheet.

I hope you like the changes I made to this paper to adapt it more to fit the needs of the pictures I have.

Plastic Patterns - Technique Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Plastic Patterns Blog Hop....tonight we are featuring projects using stencils. Tonight we have 10 Close to My Heart makers showcasing artwork using a variety of stencils or "Plastic Patterns" if you are joining me from the uber talented Lauren Moore you are in the correct place. If you are starting the hop at my blog...welcome!

Tonight I stepped way out of my comfort zone on this layout! First I did a one page layout, I am a pretty die hard 2 page layout kinda gal. Next I used a very bold pattern which I got from a Plastic stencil hence my Plastic Pattern. This stencil is from the CTMH Stencil Pack #1 (this was one of my first purchases from the Core Idea Book, I could not wait to get it) and third I used bright bold colours that did not seem to make sense but I just picked 3 colours I liked and figured I would see how they worked together. I was lucky in that my pictures were pretty neutral colour wise.

So I created this one page layout to remember some final pictures I snapped of my beloved Cocoa, she was my first dog and I adored her. Cocoa knew me so well and she was always there for me when I needed a snuggle buddy, someone to cry with and always full of kisses. She was also my scrapping buddy. When we first got her I had an office/scrap room and I had two desk chairs, one at the desk and one at my scrap table and when I would be scrapping she would come in and jump up in the other desk chair and I would pull it over next to me and she would curl up in it and sleep while I scrapped. Later in life she would curl up at my feet, literally on my feet when my scrap area moved to our basement, it was chilly down there always so I had a blanket and she would curl up in the blanket on my feet. These pictures were taken just a few days before we had to put her down, her health was failing her fast and I could not handle seeing the sadness in her eyes any more, she was in pain and ready. I snapped these pictures knowing I would not have much more time with her and I think she knew we had made the decision because she just seemed to know she would not be sick for much longer, she was just a different girl those last few days. Again, these were taking in my scrap area.....she was my scrap buddy from the beginning to the end!

I created this pattern using the new to CTMH Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in the colours of Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn and Seedless preserves. I love how vivid the colours are on this layout. I matted the White Daisy on Eggplant and the photos are matted with Green Apple. Lagoon also worked well with the colours of the Distress Ink Oxide.  I cut out the puppy from the CTMH Artistry Cricut collection.

It is now time to "hop" on over to the ever talented
Katy Taylor and see what fabulous art work she has for us. If you get lost along the way, please click here to go to the beginning of the hop!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Yesterday & Today - Cross Canada BH

Hello and welcome to another Cross Canada Blog Hop. Tonight my fellow consultants and I will be featuring projects we made using the Yesterday and Today paper pack. If you are following the hop you should be joining me from Colleen, or just starting with me, welcome. If you get lost a long the way, just click here to go to Michelle's blog to start at the beginning.

Now onto my project, I created a layout for my monthly workshop that I am sharing tonight. My workshop ladies specifically asked for a layout about the dad's in our life so I am giving them just that!

I really struggle with masculine projects and this paper pack made it super easy. This layout can be used for a picture of my husband with the kids, my father with me or even heritage pictures of great grandfathers and daughters, it is so versatile.

Products used:

Paper:
- Yesterday and Today with sticker sheet
- Toffee, Espresso, and French Vanilla Cardstock

Cricut:
- Close to My Heart - Artbooking (font for Title and the paper tear from notebook)

It is not time to "HOP" on over to Janet and see what great project she has for us tonight.
Until next time, happy crafting!

Adventure Family Time - H2H Challenges

Hello and Happy Monday to you all! Today I have new challenge for you from H2H Challenges. This week the theme challenge is "Cutting it Close" so for this challenge you need to cut something out either with a Cricut, a Thin Cut, or the good ole fashioned Fussy Cutting!

For this challenge I am using one of the layouts I did for my upcoming Spruced Up workshop as it is full of Cricut cuts. Now in all fairness I did not design the left page, that is from the CTMH Complete Creativity Cricut Cartridge but I did add the second page on as it is a one page layout in the cartridge.

I had a lot of fun creating this layout, but it is a lot of intricate Cricut cuts, but that is what I love about it, it is so detailed.

Products Used:

Paper:
- Spruced Up
- White Daisy, Glacier, Espresso, Fern, Evergreen, Toffee, and Sangria card stock

Embellishments:
- Clear Sparkles
- Bitty Sparkles

Cricut:
- Complete Creativity
