Sweetest Little Things - SOTM Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the first blog hop of 2022! Tonight we are featuring the CTMH Stamp of the Month for January which is titled Sweet Little Things. If you are joining me from Michelle Loncar from Show and Tell with Michelle you are in the right place! If you are starting here with me, welcome to go through the blog hop all you need to do is click the links at the bottom of each blog post to see how my fellow consultants are using this stamp of the month.

Now onto the project! I created this card using the Sweet Little Things stamp set. I had no plan in mind, I just played with it and and did what felt right. I wanted to keep it simple. I used Peach card stocks and scored the paper every 1/2 inch and sanded it to bring out the distressed look. I added some of the Jan-Feb Mix in paper which is matted in White Daisy card stock. I used a blending brush to add Glacier (for the sky) and Sage (for the grass) with blending brushes.

I stamped the bunnies in our Intense Black ink as I was not sure if I was going to use alcohol markers or water colour pencils, I opted for a softer look and went with the water colour pencils. After colouring the sweet bunnies I fussy cut them out and used foam tapes popping them up. I let the card sit for a day or so to see if I felt it needed more but I really liked the simplicity of this one.

July-August New Product Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our blog hop tonight featuring new products that you can find in the CTMH July/August idea book. If you are joining me from the super talented Becca Whitham, welcome!  If you are starting here at my blog, welcome, we are glad to have you! We have 14 consultants sharing projects with us tonight so be sure to scroll through all the blogs by clicking the links at the end of each blog post.

Now, onto the artwork! For tonight's project I am featuring our Wander paper pack. I love, love, love this paper pack and will be buying lots of it. For me and most of my customers the colours in this one paper was more of a desert feel to it (and while I do have pictures that will work with that from my childhood) living in Ontario, Canada we have more cottage than desert pictures so with the help of my Cricut and the Wander Cricut collection (click here to view it) I changed the feel of the paper to create a more cottage feel for both me and my customers.

As you can see, this is the original design of the paper:

And I wanted to make a more cottage feel so I used the layout below that comes with the Wander Cricut collection to cut out the sand in Toffee, grass in Evergreen and water inGlacier card stock and layered it over the Paprika, Sundance and Peacock.  I also used the cloud from the layout below but cut them in White Daisy.

For some added details, I "fussy" cut the title sticker that said Wander apart and popped the letters up with foam dimensional tape. The sun below, I took some Sundance card stock and cut the 2nd largest stitched Circle thin cut and popped it up over the spot where the sun was on the printed paper and stuck a cloud behind the sun.

To finish the layout off, I added some White dots from the Black and White dots set, some trees that I cut out from the CTMH Timber Cricut collection and added some stickers from the sticker sheet.

I hope you like the changes I made to this paper to adapt it more to fit the needs of the pictures I have.

Floral Celebration - SOTM BH

Hello and welcome to the August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Tonight Close to My Heart consultants from all over the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will be coming together to showcase artwork they created using the August Stamp of the Month - Floral Celebration.

If you are joining me from Gina Brandstetter, welcome, you are in the right place and if you are starting here..welcome!

Tonight I have two cards I created using this stamp set. I love how I got two completely different looks just by changing the colours I used. I used both of our current paper packs Timber and Summer Vibes, I actually used some scraps I had...I love when I can use up my scraps!

Card 1 - Timber.
I used the wood grain paper from the Timber paper pack and paired it with the large bracket thin cut. My ink colours are some of my favourites, Ruby, Saffron, Fern and Sapphire. And just added a few clear sparkles to finish it off.

Card 2 - Summer Vibes
I used some Glacier, Candy Apple and White Daisy card stock. On this one I random stamped the flowers in Candy Apple, Lemonade, Glacier, Nectarine, and Smoothie. I stamped the sentiment in Black ink to help ground it a bit. I used some red Shimmer Trim, the scalloped oval is from the Stitched Together Cricut Collection.

It is now time to "hop" on over to the very talented Colleen Dewis
Until next time, happy crafting!

Now onto what I created with this stamp of the month:

I really had no plan for what I wanted to do with this card so I just stamped the floral image and started to colour and just decided to let it go where it went. I do not have a ton of markers so I had to make due with what I have. I decided to use Necatrine to mat this card because 1. I love orange and 2. I love how the orange flowers came out and wanted to help them pop. I decided to random stamp in Nectarine ink the small hearts that are included in this set.

Paper:
- Nectarine, Black, and White Daisy card stock

Stamp:
- S2002 Cherishing Her

- Black Memento
