A Few of My Favourite Things - H2H Challenges

Today I am bringing you a post from one of my design teams, the H2H Challenges and this weeks challenge is all about A Few of My Favourite Things. So we are hoping you will join us and share a few of your favourite projects, embellishments or techniques with us.

Here is what I have....

I chose this layout as one of my favourites for a variety of reasons. First off, I used it to scrapbook pictures of my family at our cottage, one of our very favourite places to go. Cottage Country in Ontario, Canada is absolutely breathtaking and this is from a beach loving Southern California girl! Second, just look at those papers, absolutely stunning. And I lastly, I love the title I created with my Silhouette, I was just learning how to create titles like this and I was so happy with how this one turned out! So that is why this was one of my favourites! Click here to see the original post featuring this paper pack and all the supplies I used to create it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I welcome any and all feedback. If you would like help with purchasing any of the products mentioned my post today, please contact your local CTMH Maker. If you do not have a CTMH Maker and are in Canada I can absolutely assist you in ordering. If you are in the United States, New Zealand or Australia, I can help you locate a Maker local to you for ordering.

For this weeks project, I did some stash busting and pulled out my retired Daisy Meadows, I need some Easter cards and I just love this paper for Easter, specifically the plaid in this collection.  For the sponging challenge I used my Mint ink and used a stencil to ink on the pattern, it looks like a water background to me. I did Mint ink on Mint paper for a subtle background.

- Mint, Peach and White Daisy card stock

Amish Cinnamon Bread - H2H Recipe challenge

Hello! Happy Monday to you all. Today at H2H Challenges we have a recipe challenge for you. The recipe can be an actual cooking type of recipe, a sketch or challenge recipe type, or anything that requires you to follow a "recipe."

I chose to do an actual recipe, see I bought the Cut Above Recipe Kit - Kitchen Traditions about 6 months ago and the Holiday version from the Holiday Expressions Idea Book and I have not touched it yet. So this was the perfect opportunity to get it out and get started documenting our recipes.

I chose a family favourite and one I knew had pictures of one of my daughters helping me make and that is my husband's favourite...Amish Cinnamon Bread.

Products Used:

- Z4168 Cut Above Recipe Kit - Kitchen Traditions
- White Daisy card stock
- D1770 Kitchen Traditions stamp set
- Z2105 Black Ink
- Black Cricut Pen

Now that I have this one done and in the album I am committing myself to writing out one recipe per week, this keeps it manageable and less daunting of a project. I also have some family members that I will be asking to write out the recipes that they make that our family favourites. I wish I had some of my moms old recipes that she made all the time but never had written down and now that is gone for over 20 years memories are fading and it would be awesome to have those memories in her writing to hand down to my girls. While I missed the opportunity with my mom, I will not miss anymore. I will also be having my girls write out their own favourites that we make when I teach them how to make our family favourites.

Until next time, happy crafting!

This week our theme at Heart 2 Heart Challenges is "Framed" now many in the paper crafting world would think frames and matting and beautiful stuff like that but not me. Something New - H2H Challenges

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2018 and the first of many post creative projects I will have for the new year.

This morning I am bringing you a project for the Heart 2 Heart Challenges site and the theme for this week is "Something New."  Something new could be a new technique to your, a new product or line you have never worked with before. It could be the something new from a wedding...a new gift or item you are documenting.

My something new is....one of CTMH's new paper packs...Chelsea Gardens. I am so in love with the spring feel of this paper pack and the soft colour palette.

For this card, I used the CTMH Watercolour pencils and instead of using a water brush to blend the pencils together I used my Shimmer Brush and it gave my leaves and flowers a wee bit of sparkle.

Girls Night Out - H2H Anything Goes

This week at Heart 2 Heart we are having an Anything Goes theme and I have a layout that I did a few months ago that I never posted but it is one of my favourites and I really was very proud of this layout so even though the paper pack is retired I am going to post it anyways. I did this one for one of my workshops from the Prickly Pear paper pack and really loved how different it was to the image of Prickly Pear with the Cacti and Llamas.
The title was cut out using my Silhouette and some fonts I had on my computer.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see what I created. We would love to see what you come up with.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Counting my blessings - H2H Challenge

The theme this week at Heart 2 Heart challenges is Count your blessings. For me my family is my greatest blessing. It has not been an easy road at all, and it has been a long long road for us to become a family, a road we are still travelling. Adoption is not for the faint of heart I have come to learn but it is worth all the work, effort, heart ache, late nights, early mornings, worry, school meetings, and countless (but fun) play dates. I love my family...yeah they drive me bonkers from time to time but I really really do love my husband and my girls. I am thankful for my family and I count them amongst my greatest blessings!
